At Nook, our Service Fee is a small charge designed to sustain and improve the quality of our platform. This fee contributes to the ongoing development of Nook, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for both Hosts and Roommates. It covers the costs associated with maintaining our website, mobile application development, offering customer support, and continuously enhancing our services.
The Service Fee is applicable to both Hosts and Roommates. It is a nominal charge that enables us to provide a reliable platform for connecting users, facilitating bookings, and ensuring a positive living experience.
The Service Fee is collected automatically during the booking process. It is transparently displayed before finalizing the reservation, allowing users to review the charges associated with their booking.

Fee Structure

Host's Service Fee

We charge Hosts a flat 2% fee based on the booking subtotal, which includes the daily/weekly/monthly rate and any applicable cleaning fees (excluding taxes and payment method charges). This fee is deducted automatically from the Host's payout.

Roommate's Service Fee

For Roommates, we charge a flat 10% of total reservation fee for each roommate. The amount of charge may differ for each roommate depending on the duration of stay.

Cross-currency Bookings

In cases where Roommates pay using a currency different from the one set by the Host, our fees are adjusted to align with the value we provide our users. This may result in an addition of 1% charge from the booking subtotal for cross-currency transactions.

Visibility of the Roommate's Service Fee

The Roommate Service Fee is transparently displayed during the checkout process before finalizing the booking. This ensures that Roommates are aware of the associated charges and can make informed decisions.

Modifications to This Service Fee Policy

Updates

We may update this Service Fee Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated guidelines on Nook or through other communication channels and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If you disagree with the revised Service Fee Policy, you can cancel your Account. If you do not cancel your Account before the date the revised Service Fee Policy becomes effective, your continued access to or use of the Application  will be subject to the revised Service Fee Policy.

The effective date of the most recent version of the Service Fee Policy will be displayed at the top of the page at the “Last Updated” section.
